Jessica Arpinwas born in the Bay of all Saints of Salvador, Bahia in Brazil
From there she flew to New Orleans and the bayous of Louisiana overdosing on gumbos and hot sauce for the next couple of Carnivals and Jazz Fests.
Her family then moved to Switzerland where she was at home in Geneva between the lake and the mountains, cycling to school and university and studying theatre and circus at the Théâtre-Cirqule.
A few year later, back to the Americas she flew, this time on her own, further North to the National Circus School of Montreal in Québec.
Ever since she has produced her work on stages, in tents and on the streets of the world.
Be it in Brazil, Greece, Italy, Canada, Belgium, Nunavut or wherever, each time she brings her unique approach to exploring the boundaries between theatre, circus, the street and cabaret in the language, often the dialect, of the venue.
The wind in her voice, the fire in her movements, she comes alive in the world of the clown, a being who lives everywhere and no where without linguistic, social, geographical or political borders.
