Fekat Circus is a formation of eight artists from Etiopía: 4 jugglers, acrobats, dancers, a contortionist, an acrobat, and 3 musicians. Makeda and acrobatic flight of the ark is a show of circus arts, music and dancing, where the company of young artists from Addis Ababa engages with history, tradition and legends of his country, in a tangle with the playful excellent technical skills of the individual components. This is not the story, a pretext is the story of the Queen of Sheba (Makeda by Ethiopians), and the legendary Ark of the Covenant, transported about 900 years before Christ by Israel in Ethiopia, where he would continue to build the plot of a fantastic journey, where the numbers virtuoso circus of juggling, acrobatics and contortion alternate with dancing and traditional music performed live, drawing pictures of unique artistic, full of pride and awareness of their own history and tradition, as a fresh creative fantasy.
Fekat Circus, which means «blossom circus,» is for the first time in Europe with this new production, which marks an important step in the journey of this young company, heir to the great Ethiopian circus tradition. Nevertheless, interpreters create of their own way to represent it, since they look back to the past and. at the same time, they jump forward in search of their own artistic dimension.
